Last ski blog for the year!

Since March 4, I skied 24 days....by far the most since about 30 years ago, when I 'lived' to ski.  Ramon skied 22 days, and Carla joined us at the end for 3 days.  Finished with the 90th annual slush cup with 5,000 others at Sunshine May 21st.  We could drive down to https://www.mammothmountain.com/ in central California.  They are open until June 17!  Where did we ski?  Panorama, Norquay, Castle, Fernie, Lake Louise, Kicking Horse, Sunshine, Revelstoke, Silver Star.  BTW...Mammoth is only 300m higher but over 2,000kms south!

As my friend Chris says, Ramon has gone to the 'dark side' ....he's taken up snowboarding!  He picked it up quickly, but he can do a lot more on skiis.

In the bubble chair at Sunshine

Le Tabernac joined us for a day.

Late season powder at LL

Late season pow at Sunshine

The season of never ending powder!

Even dad enjoys the terrain/jump parks.

Carla's first black diamond!

Carla has the backside of Lake Louise to herself.  Ah the joys of spring skiing: lots of snow, warm, and no lift lines.

The little man's new snowboard.  $30 at Sunshine from the rental shop and $10 boots on Kijiji.

The Alpine Centre at LL is a great place to stay.

....especially when dad wins free breaky in a trivia contest.

Veggie burgers everywhere!

...and something cool to wash them down with.

Carla's homemade jam; mixed berry

Carla has glasses for the first time.

Goose in a bucket.

Finishing up the indoor climbing season.

Playing with solder downstairs.

Traded in the ice skates for roller blades.

Un Lobo....a wolf on the road to Sunshine.

The new wheels.  2006 Sienna.  200,000km.  $6500.  The 98 got sideswiped and the side bumper got torn off, so that provided me with an excuse to upgrade.

Robert Thirsk on the right, pointing out the shot of earth taken from the casinni probe that orbited Saturn a few years back.

Ben Gadd, author of the Handbook of the Canadian Rockies, doing a presentation for my grade 7 outdoor ed class.

Soccer or skiing...what does Ramon like better?
