xmas holiday pics

Collection of photos from the xmas holidays.  Played a lot of outdoor hockey.  Ramon on the left.
Ramon on the right.

Southland leisure centre.  Wave pool, water slides and the all important hot tub for dad :)

Carla chowing down on some greasy Chinese food in Didsbury.  Vietnamese cuisine is a much healthy and cost effective option these days, with the proliferation of noodle restaurants in Calgary.

Skating before shoveling can be fun!  Dad's "ski" tracks on the left.

Nothing like outdoor hockey on a warm, bright, sunny morning, right after a fresh snowfall.

A visit to our long time friends, Jim and Carol mean's art time in Carol's studio!

Original piece by Ramon!

Followed by veggie lasagna, kale salad with peanut sauce and topped off with apple cobbler! Wowee!  Thanx for the delish feast and the time you put into it Carol.  Much appreciated.  (That was washed down with pommegranet juice for Steve and kids, with Menage a trois Australian red wine for the rest)

Using Skype a lot these days.  The papis with Tio Carlos.

Ramon in a pensive moment.  The calm before the storm xmas morning!  Actually, Ramon carefully removes the wrapping paper.....

unlike Carla who unleashes her energy and goes wild trying to get them open!

A spinning ballerina, musical box!

....and plenty of sledding....

Santa's choo choo at the festival of lights in Airdrie

Early morning artistry

A relatively warm winter's day....about 8 degrees?  No lips or arseholes for the kids, but then veggie dogs aren't exactly real food either.

Can't have a weenie roast with out a sugar fix :)

....and yet more hockey....Ramon on the RH corner; Chinook arch in the background.

.....a lovely visit with Aunt Mary, who just turned 80.  Hadn't see her in 15 years or so.  And Kathy and Ken in about 10.

As I write this, it is -25 outside, without the windchill and Maria is running downstairs on the treadmill.  She was out yesterday in -20 and didn't mind....what's an extra 5 degrees?  $100 from Kijiji and delivered into the basement.  Older, but solidly built model.  It works for me listening to ultramarathoner podcasts....Karl Metzler this morning....world record holder for having won the most 100 mile races....at 35 currently.  Interesting folk to listen too.  Maybe I'll be inspired to do one :)

All I want for xmas is my two front teeth and a hockey stick with a curved blade like dad's.  Actually he is currently in need of a bottom tooth.

Carla creating a chile pepper tree at the Glenbow Museum

...chilling....

Happy new year!  Feliz ano!  Kids party at city hall.

Helmet is a good idea!

Skating at Carburn park, a lagoon off the Bow river....lots of space!

Skyping Super Emily and Tia Karen.....Kale smoothie specialists!

World cup half pipe champs at COP

Sliding back down the hill. Guess who wants to ski now?

Would have liked to have tried the ski option on our Chariot, but lacked the appropriate conditions living down on the equator.
